The consumer unit (otherwise known as a fuse board or fuse box) is the main source of electrical supply in the home.  The modern day consumer unit devices have integral characteristics which provides additional safety measures to protect you from electric surges, prevents too much fault current, prevent fires from electrical arcing in the event of a fault and protection from electrical shock. The consumer unit is divided into multiple circuits, which provide power for shower, cooker, sockets, immersion heaters, lighting, smoke alarms, electric oven/hob and electric vehicle chargers.

We pride ourselves in our consumer unit replacement service, if you are not aware 
about the state of your current consumer unit, or you may have an old style rewireable “fuse

standard with the latest additional safety features.

The standard for all our installations is to supply an RCBO Consumer unit which comes with a 
Surge Protective Device (SPD) as per the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations requirements.
We only fit good quality brands of consumer unit, with our go to brand being
Fusebox, Hager And Wylex.

The integral Surge Protective Device we install within the new consumer unit is designed to
protect electronic devices throughout the house in the event of a power surge.
